We are super excited to share that our Williamstown renovation project has been featured in Kitchens and Bathrooms Quarterly Magazine!

At ML Interior Design, we pride ourselves on creating spaces that are not only beautiful but also deeply personal and respectful of the home's history. One of our recent projects involved a stunning Victorian heritage home where our clients approached us with a unique vision and a heartfelt desire to pay homage to the traditional architecture while incorporating the beauty of the outdoors.

A Unique Vision Brought to Life

The homeowners approached Melissa and her team at ML Interior Design with a specific request: they needed help selecting all interior colours, fixtures, and finishes for their renovation. The client arrived prepared, bringing along meticulously crafted mood boards filled with magazine clippings of houses that resonated with her. These boards were a window into her mind, showcasing her love for traditional Victorian elements and her desire to reflect the serene colours of nature.

A Personal Touch with Professional Expertise

Our client, an avid gardener, envisioned a soft, warm, and inviting colour palette but was unsure how to bring all these elements together cohesively. Melissa and her team took the time to understand her vision, ensuring every decision made would respect the traditional architecture of the Victorian home while seamlessly blending the indoor and outdoor spaces.

Selecting Natural Finishes and Fixtures

Melissa's expertise and keen eye for detail led to the selection of beautiful natural finishes that perfectly complemented the home's historical charm:

  • Solid Spotted Gum Timber Flooring and Feature Island Bench: This rich, durable wood added warmth and a touch of elegance, providing a perfect foundation for the rest of the design.

  • Stunning Aged Brass Tapware: The choice of aged brass tapware added a sense of timeless sophistication and subtle luxury to the kitchen and bathrooms.

  • Handmade Subway Tiles: These tiles brought in a handcrafted, artisanal quality, enhancing the home's classic Victorian appeal.

  • Beautiful Blue Woodfire Oven: The standout feature in the kitchen, this oven not only served as a functional appliance but also as a striking focal point, adding a splash of colour that echoed the hues found in the client's garden.

Collaboration and Creation

Throughout the project, Melissa and her team worked closely with the homeowner, ensuring that each element reflected her vision and the essence of the Victorian heritage. The result was a harmonious blend of traditional and contemporary elements, creating a space that was not only beautiful and functional but also deeply personal and reflective of the homeowner's love for nature.

At ML Interior Design, we believe that the best designs come from collaboration, understanding, and a shared vision. This Victorian heritage home is a testament to what can be achieved when a passionate homeowner and a dedicated design team come together to create something truly special.

Transforming this Victorian heritage home was a rewarding journey for both the homeowner and our team. By combining traditional elements with modern finishes and a natural colour palette, we were able to create a warm, inviting space that pays homage to the home's rich history while reflecting the beauty of the outdoors.
