Our design philosophy is simple, we love to design joyful, timeless spaces that tells a story of the family that lives within the home.
Driven by a deep passion for design and style, the ML Interior Design team work closely with our clients to articulate their vision and where art, form and function co-exist in a true reflection of the client’s needs, lifestyle and personality.
From furniture sourcing and styling to a full interior design service the team couples an eclectic, forward-thinking style with services in Concept Design, Design Development (FF&E, colours and joinery design), Documentation, Furniture Sourcing, Procurement and Styling.
Melissa lunardon
Melissa is the creative director and head interior designer who is widely recognised for her outstanding contributions to the design industry. She is the founder and principal of ML Interior Design, a boutique design firm that is widely known for creating timeless interiors that reflect each client’s personality and lifestyle.
With over 15 years of experience, Melissa has gained a reputation for her exceptional creativity and passion for design. Her work has been featured in numerous magazines, blogs, and publications, including Grand Designs, Home Beautiful, and Kitchens and Bathrooms Quarterly.
In addition to her work as a designer, Melissa also runs a mentor program for fellow interior designers who are at the start-up phase of running their own business. Through this program, she shares her knowledge and expertise with emerging designers, providing them with the guidance and support they need to succeed in the competitive design industry.
nikki cooper
Nikki is the face and talent behind all the amazing home 3D visualisations you see in our studio. Nikki’s 3D images give a better spatial understanding of how our design will look and feel once the space is complete, and help our clients easily visualise the end product.
This not only boosts our communication and engagement with project decision-makers, but minimises the potential for error before our clients commit to a build or renovation.
We love the value that Nikki brings to our team. This talented documentor is unfailingly energetic, friendly and responsive. And when we say energetic, we really mean it…. Outside of work for fun she does boxing and loves snow skiing!
eliza smith
Eliza handles all the administrative tasks we can’t get to so that we can focus on making our clients home as perfect as it can possibly be.
From emails to scheduling, financial coordination, website administration and document formatting, Eliza is our go-to girl; whose main role is customer care and making sure our clients are informed, engaged and excited throughout the entire design process.
Eliza ensures our studio is smooth-running and stress-free, and we are incredibly grateful to have such a positive, helpful and down-to-earth as the first port of call on our team!
We love the images and stories Eliza shares from her home on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, which she shares with her husband, two young sons and Golden Retriever duo.
With an eye for detail and a unique “non-designer” perspective, we couldn’t be luckier to have the administrative assistance of Eliza to balance out the creativity of our design team.
blossom mckenzie-king
Blossom is our junior designer showing the future of the industry. Known more commonly as Blossy, here is a woman extracting all there is from life, combining hobbies and pleasures with livelihood for a newfound way to merge work and lifestyle this century.
She sings in a pop band, delves deep into cultural diversity, dabbles in floristry and can do everything from spatial planning, documentation, digital renders, furniture styling, fixture instalment, mood boards, presentation packages and more.
Blossom works in the team to help create the stunning interior and exterior colour palettes that ML Interior Design is known for. She has a great eye for detail and her product knowledge is invaluable.
margaret cochran
Margie is the face behind most of the content you see out there from our team, including our social media, The Design Journal, our blog and many of the articles you see us featured in across national publications. She is absolutely invaluable in helping us share our work and insights whilst we are busy in the studio and in our client’s homes!
Margie is an absolute #wordmaster, whilst her son Sam is technologically savvy and a coding genius, making them an unbeatable team when it comes to digital marketing, media, websites and communication.
Fun fact: Margie is obsessed with cold exposure therapy and ice baths - With 30+ degree days on the regular up on the Sunshine Coast where she lives, maybe we can’t blame her!
